Field Trip

RAIL MUSEUM

Our smart students of KG-I were taken to the "Rail Museum" on Thursday 16-11-2017. The objective of the trip was to gain knowledge about the railways which is an important mode of transport. We reached the venue at 10.15 a.m. To cherish the exciting trip the students posed for photographs. Time flew as the curious students watched the “meter gauge inspection car, narrow gauge steam locomotive, narrow gauge coach which had a dog cage and place for luggage. The students enjoyed sitting in coach which is different from the present day coach and the meter gauge rail bus. While observing the models the students had a lot of questions to ask. They were excited about the toy train ride, and were very happy to board the train with the teachers who were accompanying them. It was snack time for our tired student who finished their snacks without making any noise. After snacks students were taken to the "Maharani Salon" where they enjoyed their walk viewing the specially designed and customized wagon of the royal family. Here they also had a view of the different magneto telephones, amplifiers, dynamos, hand signal lamps used by guards, fish plates used to join rails, hand grinding machines, model of a Loka Pavani bridge and pendulum clock. Students were also taken to the Chamundi Gallery which housed photographs and history of railways of India and other parts of the world. The curiosity of the students grew as they saw photographs of Sky train, Bullet train, Monorail and the fast and furious metro train. Students enjoyed playing in the play area and then it was time to head back to school after a fun filled, memorable field trip.
